Aaron Auguste
2026 | Artist Residency

Aaron Auguste is a landscape texture artist whose work blends the natural world with raw artistic interpretation. With a sharp eye for detail, he captures the intricate textures of landscapes, creating a unique visual language that explores the relationship between nature and human perception.
Born in Somerset and raised in the rural North, Aaron’s deep connection to the outdoors — from moors and coastal cliffs to open plains — has shaped his practice. Working primarily in oil and acrylic (with occasional watercolour), he builds rich, tactile surfaces through layered paint and texture. His semi-abstract pieces highlight the passage of time, weathering, erosion, and the interplay of light and shadow, celebrating the beauty found in rock, bark, water, and stone.
In 2026, Aaron participated in the El Deck Artist Residency. During his month-long stay, he created several new paintings inspired by the local environment and produced site-specific textured works directly on the walls and stairs of the house, leaving a permanent artistic mark on the residency space.
Aaron currently lives and works in Brighton, where he continues to push the boundaries of textured landscape painting. Through his art, he invites viewers to pause and appreciate the rich, tactile beauty of the world around us.
